Yubo to start facial age estimation of android users

Using a photo and a short video of each user, the French social media platform has been verifying the ages of its iOS users. It uses Yoti’s facial estimation technology which is 98.9% accurate. Age verification becomes particularly important for Yubo as its user base is mostly made up of people under the age of 25.

‘Community Chats’ being tested for Messenger by Meta

The feature will allow group organizers to create curated live Messenger chat groups which can be browsed by topics, announcements, and more. Audio channels and video broadcasts are also allowed up to 30 members.Takeaway: The idea is something like an FB group but for Messenger so that interactions are quicker. Meta has apparently taken inspiration for this form Discord to boost its falling engagements. As for users, this does appear to be a helpful feature.

Instagram testing a new tipping feature called ‘Gifts’ for Reels creators

Just like IG Badges, the platform is testing out a new feature through which Reels creators can unlock a new source of revenue directly from their viewers. Further information on the feature is not available yet. This marks another step by IG towards rivalling TikTok and pushing Reels further.
