You can now post text, images, GIFs, and videos in a single tweet
This can be done with up to 4 media items from android or iOS devices. The media items will show up in a grid-like format depending on the selection. The feature will surely grant more creative liberty to users.
Facebook introduces 2 new features to personalize your feed
Feature 1: ‘Show more/show less’ options will be attached to certain posts which will make your feed have more or less of similar posts respectively. Feature 2: Lets you control how much of the content you see on the feed is from friends/groups/public figures etc.
Instagram brings adds to Profile Feeds and Explore’s landing page
Instagram is bringing ad placement (surface) to the landing page of explore (first page one sees after tapping Explore button) and to Profile feed (feed one goes through after visiting someone’s profile). Ads will appear as ‘sponsored posts’ and profile feeds ads will be open for ‘non-teen, public’ profiles. Takeaway: Instagram is already facing a lot of backlash from users after their unidimensional push towards Reels to rival TikTok. Its revenue dropped for the first time last quarter bringing it under pressure to increase the same. While this move may appear good for Instagram, is it going to be good for users? Would it ruin the user experience of an already irritated user base is the big question.
